    It’s one of the non-blood sugar things I hate about type 1 diabetes. I’ve been let in to places every single time, but the part I’m talking about is when they search my bags. I know it’s for safety reasons but it makes you feel like some sort of criminal.

    The Federal Govt discriminates against T1D........... Air Force had recruited me HARD when I was about to graduate from high school as I'd scored very high on my ASVAB test. When he asked me if I was diabetic, I said yes, juvenile diabetes. He then said, well, you can go a few weeks without insulin?? Obviously I said no and then he said, well, you cannot join then, sorry....... DISCRIMINATION....................................................................

    • @pheonix3862
      @pheonix3862 7 років тому

      Tammy S i have it to but that isnt discrimination, its law and i think its right due to stuff like hypo's which can cause you to go light headed and ita dangeourus to you and your peers

    dang 303?? what did u eat to get it that high and did u take insulin? i one time binged on everything and when i woke up my blood sugar felt so high and my heart was pounding and it was 120 but on the average day its 60-70

    • @adesa1
      @adesa1 9 років тому

      +raymond perez Shes clearly a clinical diabetic not just an average person checking her blood sugar. No average person blood sugar would ever be at 303.

    How do you get through the negative mental of a "off" day? The highs, the lows, the roller coaster?

    • @eszumel
      @eszumel 9 років тому

      Personally, I know that it is going to be okay. I just continue to tell myself that. Every day with diabetes can be a roller coaster, but letting negative thoughts consume you will never help you in the long run. I also like to read positive things online or I look at diabetes blogs. That helps too! :)
